TAP-DC and TACL are delighted to invite you to our nation’s capital this Labor Day weekend for the TACL Fall 2018 Convention!
Gathering just down the street from our elected representatives, leaders from the TACL programs and other Taiwanese American organizations will come together to tackle important issues in our community and have just enough fun to fill the Washington Monument.
We can’t think of a better way to close out summer than with the #TACLfam over a weekend jam-packed with growth, inspiration, and empowerment as we continue the work of making a more perfect TACL!
"Not all treasure's silver and gold...maybe it's chocolates? Maybe it's my #TACLfam?
As we all endure the long dog days of summer, I look forward to its winding down because it means that I can welcome all of you to DC for National Convention! The DC Convention Team and TACL National Board have been both hard at work planning all the deets for what promises to be a fun-filled and enriching weekend. We have confirmed participation from Andrew Yang, 2020 Democratic presidential candidate, and Representative Ted Lieu of California's 33rd District, with others in the works. There will also be workshops on civic engagement, the upcoming Census, and sharing best practices across TAP chapters.
In addition to the programming, and in line with tradition, National Convention is a time for all of us to convene and to (re)connect--a family reunion of sorts. We in the South have a tradition for family reunions, so I am really looking forward to the food, the stories, and the fun that will captivate us just enough to hold over to the next family reunion, I mean Mid-Year Convention.
In the spirit of my alter ego, let's regret nothing, ever! See y'all soon in DC!" Tom E Chen
