The Unity March is an Asian American multicultural event to advance socioeconomic and cultural equity, racial justice, and solidarity. The June 25th mobilization aims to bring together the diverse Asian diaspora with multicultural partners across the LGBTQ+, Muslim, disability communities, Black, Indigenous, and Pacific Islander, Latino, and Arab American communities.
Recognizing that no community is a monolith and that systemic biases have affected many of our communities throughout history, we will launch a slate of goals and programs to advance:
-Full participation in democracy - access to voting, citizenship, and civic power for immigrants and communities of color.
-Racial and Economic Justice - investing in workers, small businesses, entrepreneurs of color, and women.
-Cultural Equity and Media Representation - ensuring our stories are told by cultural and educational institutions and leaders.
Joining the march are viral musical artist Keedron Bryant, musical group WanMor, Vietnamese-American pop soul singer/songwriter and advocate KHA, D.C. R&B/Pop artist Thuy, award-winning producer and trans rights advocate Geena Rocero, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Jose Antonio Vargas, civil rights activist Rev. Al Sharpton, and NYC-based hate crime survivor Esther Lee
