How did Taiwanese identity evolve throughout time and geography? How does this affect Taiwanese American identity and future generations?
Join TAP-DC for a virtual seminar on Taiwanese identity by Eric Tsai of Outreach for Taiwan (OFTaiwan). From Taiwan's earliest connection with European traders to the arrival of the Chinese Nationalist Army and Taiwanese immigration to America in the 70s-90s, Eric will break down some of the complexities of Taiwan's multifaceted identity.
In a seminar entitled "Ever-shifting Taiwanese Identity: From Islands to Americas," we will discuss what it means to be "Taiwanese," the generational differences, and what makes up Taiwan's cultural identity today.
