Remember. Honor. Teach.
Join TAP-DC and our friends as we lay Christmas wreaths on the markers of our nation's fallen and deceased veterans at Wreaths Across America. Please join us in a morning of volunteering and remembrance of what has become a national holiday tradition.
This year, we are honoring Sgt. Eddie Chen, a Taiwan-born U.S. Army soldier killed during a siege outside Baghdad in April 2004. He's the first causality in the ambush known as ‘Black Sunday’, changing the course of the Iraq War.
Eddie's story is chronicled in Martha Radditz's book, 'The Long Road Home', and was later adapted into a miniseries by National Geographic. Sgt. Chen was portrayed by Taipei-born actor Kenny Leu.
The event is free and open to the public.
